Saradhi Rengarajan serves as the Director of Engineering, Fuel Cell Systems at Nikola Corporation, a global leader in zero-emissions transportation and energy solutions. Since joining Nikola in October 2021, he has spearheaded all engineering activities related to the development and integration of fuel cell power modules and associated systems in Nikola’s Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell electric semi-truck.
Before joining Nikola, Rengarajan amassed over a decade of experience at Cummins, where he played a pivotal role in the development of spark-ignited natural gas and propane medium and heavy-duty engines for commercial automotive applications. His contributions were particularly notable in the development and launch of near-zero emissions Natural Gas Engines. During his tenure, he also served as a Technical Project Leader for various DOE and externally funded programs aimed at creating high-efficiency, near-zero emissions LPG, and Natural Gas engines.
Educated at the University of Michigan with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Rengarajan also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, India.
